Lifelong Learning Center

Math Tutors Needed!

We are in desperate need of math tutors (especially pre-algebra, algebra and occasionally geometry).

Prospective tutors should contact Sydne VanHorne to make an appointment for an interview and orientation.

Following their orientation, the literacy coordinator, will match them with a student that has requested assistance with whatever topic.   An appointment is made for the tutor and the student (and parent(s) if it is a minor or child) to meet with the literacy coordinator in the Lifelong Learning office.  An agreeable plan is made in which the tutor and student determine the best time for them to continue meeting.   Usually an hour per week is spent by the tutor and student together.  This can be any time that the library is open.  Meetings cannot take place in private homes.   Confidentiality is important.  Sydne is available to follow-up, support and assist as needed.

Please contact Sydne via email or by phone.  She is in her office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 am  until 4 pm.
